Teamwork makes the dream work. To accomplish anything great of any significance it will take teamwork to make it happen. Even the best people in any field will tell you that they did not make it there by themselves.
The question is, who do you surround yourself with that will help you get to where you want to go? Do you surround yourself with people that are moving in the same direction as you? Do you associate with people that bring you up, or people that bring you down? Your associations are a hugh part of attaining your goals.
Watch this video from the movie “Any Given Sunday” and ask yourself, will the people you associate with go that extra inch for you? And most important, are you willing to go that extra inch for them? Its all about the team!
There is no doubt,that headline rings a bell for most people. It’s from the the popular movie “A Few Good Men” with Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson. The crazy thing is, most people don’t realize how true this statement really is. I have had many experiences in life, mostly good, some bad, and some that rate so so on the scale. But one thing I have always realized is that the truth is probably one of the hardest things for individuals to deal with.
You see we all want to be told the truth, none of us like to be lied too, but the fact is we lie to ourselves more often than we realize. When our heart is involved in something we care about, or something that we have an emotional investment in, we tend to justify when something is not right. We tell ourselves that its not the way it seems, or it is different thanwhat it looks like. We do this to protect our hearts from being hurt. This is a self mechanism that we throw up because in the depth of our soul we don’t want to believe that what we have put our heart and soul into is not good. The fact is, this is a really bad habit, and it will bring you down if you don’t do something about it!
Although the truth is very hard to take at times, we must learn to love it, and embrace it at all costs. We must learn to have the courage to stop the self-mechanism of throwing up a wall because we don’t want to admit that there is a problem. People do this in life all the time.
In business, when you don’t see success, it is not the business your in, or the product you offer, or the team your a part of, its YOU! You are the one that will ultimately determine success or failure.
Your success is determined by the areas of your life you improve, and the skills you develop. You must bring value to the world and that will determine the level of success you reach. Life is not easy, and change is hard, but for someone to get beyond where they are, change must happen. There will be times when you make a change in your life, and those around you will not see it, they will ridicule you for it, and they will criticize you for it, but none the less you know what you need to do to further yourself in your walk of life. Believe me, I have seen this in my life many times. When you want to grow, those closest to you will try to keep you right where you are, they will not do it out of hatred or wanting to not see you succeed, but will do it out of fear that you may do something great and leave them behind. Typically this will happen when you do something that is differnet then the norm or status quo. Crazy isn’t it? But true!
You can’t be held back by the opinion of others, you must learn to put what other people think aside and move with the truth you know. If you will do this, you will start to move in the right direction.
The first step is honesty and integrity with yourself. You have to look for the truth and seek it out. Don’t justify wrong doing in your mind whether its something you have done, or someone else has done. Get to the truth, and that will set you free. The greatest book of all time, the bible, states it like this:
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”
It is only the truth that will set you free mentally and put you on the path to true and lasting success in all that you do. When your not honest with yourself as to where you lack, or justify the truth when there is the problem, you will never see true success and growth in your life.

You know, every once in awhile we need a reminder that we have been called to live a great life. We are only limited by our own minds, don’t let anybody ever tell you that you can’t do something. Never allow someone to tell you that you can’t have the life you desire.
