Downline Building – The Key To Long Term Success In Network Marketing

Residual income! Something everybody that gets into the network marketing industry desires from day one. But in order for the this to be a reality, you must commit to doing one major task, and that is downline building. The goal of most people in this industry is to make money off of the efforts of many while they sit on the couch and enjoy life. This can be something that you attain but it will only happen by hard work and a few simple strategies that we will talk about below. Great corporations and companies only succeed by the people they have working for them. Likewise you will only see success in the MLM industry by building a committed and thriving organization committed to the process. When downline building is something that you and a select mastermind of people are committed too, you will begin to secure the long term income your looking for and desire. Our main focus is and always should be downline building no matter what company we are with, so here are a few suggestions that will help you in your endeavors.
#1: Always allow your downline to function and build their business in the best way that suits their personality and interests.
We all have different personalities and ways of doing things. The major problem with network marketing in general is that most companies have a “system” that is meant to cram everybody into the same mold and is sold to everyone as its “Duplicatable”. Each one of us are different in the way we do things. Each of us have strengths and abilities that will contribute to the whole team. Downline building is not just about keeping it simple, its about allowing people to play up there strengths and build in a way that allows them to showcase those strengths. A group of people that have the freedom to function and build in a way that best suits them, is a winning combination that you must allow to take place. When everyone in your organization is allowed to have the freedom to move in a way that supports their abilities, you will have more committed people, and you will have a long term income for yourself that is likely to be there for years to come.
#2: Training and support.
Another aspect to downline building is training your people, and supporting them the best you can. Now when you have a big organization you can’t possibly be with everyone at all times. Sure technology makes it a little easier to connect on a larger scale, but that’s not what we are talking about here. If you stick to and teach the concept of “Each One Recruit One”, and then “Each One Train One” and then “Each One Support One” this will duplicate throughout your organization. Combined with point #1 above, you will see that pretty soon you will have a large and growing organization. When you set the example of supporting and training the people in your mastermind group, your people will then begin to have their own mastermind group of people that they train and support, and so on, and so on, and so on. This concept is something that works and will make downline building one of the most enjoyable experiences you have.
#3: Build a culture of personal development and personal growth.
When someone is committed to a process and will do whatever it take to succeed, it will only be a matter of time before that person gets to where they want to go. Can you imagine if you build an entire downline of people with this mindset? Well you can, and it all starts with you. You must be committed to the process of personal development. When you get to the point where you work on yourself just as much as you work on your business, success is inevitable. You build this culture by encouraging your people to enhance their skills just as in any job or career they were to get involved in. By helping people improve the areas that they are weak in, and combine them with their current strengths, you will have a solid and growing downline of committed individuals. When you have a group of people that understand that success is simply up to them and nobody else, you will see a downline that grows all on its own.
#4: Have a system in place that allows people the freedom to choose what works best for them.
This is kind of an additional extension from point #1 above, but I want to make a specific point here. The battle will always rage on among the so called “experts” on what system to use, and what is best, offline marketing or online marketing. The simple facts are that you can combine the best of both worlds, and give people the options to take the strengths from both of these areas and run with it. by providing your team with a resource that will combine the best of both worlds, and give them the choice of what works best for them, they will flourish. When you give your team a system that combines all of the aspects I talk about above, combined with a system that supports where they want to go, downline building will be something you enjoy rather than a burden.
